Hey there! Ashley Pascoe here, nice to meet you!
I am my friends #1 cheerleader! I love sharing the stoke, and encouraging women and anyone who identifies as womxn riders to get out and try new things while helping progression and all around amazing times on the bike! A huge mission of mine is to help encourage more women riders to try racing! The female/women representation out at races - ALL racing from xc, enduro, and downhill have very small numbers of women vs the men who show up. I would love to help change that by providing a platform for first time women racers to have a safe space to answer any questions they may have, and be a mentor to any women interested in giving racing a try! I have already got a ton of women stoked, and I want to keep it going!
I use mountain biking as a way to get myself outside, and into nature. I have found mountain biking to be very therapeutic. I'm a huge supporter of being open about mental health, and mental illness. I suffer from anxiety/and depression. Biking has been a great coping mechanism for this, and I love sharing and talking about that journey. Because of my anxiety - I typically struggle meeting new people, but bikes have been such a confidence booster and great ice breaker. Forcing myself to get uncomfortable and put myself out there. I have met some of the most amazing humans through bikes and it's also a great way to get connected to the local community.
Am I involved in any clubs? YES! I am a badassador/rider/and racer for the Ms.Fit MTB Brigade/Ms.Fit Gravity Team. The Ms.Fit MTB Brigade provides an encouraging and supportive environment for women of all ability levels to progress while keeping the ride vibe fully stoked.
I've also made a goal for the 2022 year to get involved in coaching, and more trail building/work parties!
Where do I ride? I ride all over the state of Washington, and down to Oregon, or wherever DH racing takes me! My favorite trails are in my home state of Washington - Dry Hill in the lovely always sunny Port Angeles, WA or the North Slope trails in Olympia, WA.
A little bit about myself, and my riding history - I would consider myself still a fairly new mountain bike rider! I started my journey in the biking world about 5 years ago now. I started out doing cross country riding, and then dipped my toes into DH racing - I WAS HOOKED. Got myself a downhill rig, and worked my way up in the last 4 years from racing beginner to now racing cat 1/expert with racing pro in my dreams and goals for the next year! I competed in the NW Cup 2021 as cat 1 and won 1st overall! Here is a list of some of my other race results:
